Origins

Botanical Name Salix discolor for early bloom, cut branches of Pussy willows may be brought in and set in water filled vase in a sunny window anytime after the middle of January. The catkins will develop and make a nice display for a considerable time. For lovers of pussy willows, enjoying the catkins on outside plants in March is hardly sufficient. On the other hand, once the furry pussy willows grace our homes, we become spoiled by their presence and recognize their potential in dried flower arrangements. Thus we engage in preserving pussy willows to make dried flower arrangements.
